I am trying to use the module to create an automation and I need to authenticate. I dont want to enter the username and password every time or write it inside the code, how can I just authenticate as the user that is running the process?

so will it even be possible to authenticate as the current user with MailKit on .NET Framework? I'm struggling with it for too much time and will really appreciate your help.

You could try using the default .ctor for SaslMechanismNtlm (which is a managed implementation of NTLM) which attempts to use the default system credentials, but my understanding is that it rarely works for people which is why I provided the SaslMechanismNativeNtlm option.

The problem is that the default system credentials are usually (always?) inaccessible to managed (aka C#/dotnet) code.
