So to reproduce, I have a Unity Project with a Windows build. I attempted to pack a directory to MSIX and picked the build directory of the project with its settings shown below and attempted to pack the folder:

How do I resolve this? Thanks in advance.

The beginning of the regular expression (^(?:[0-9]|[1-9][0-9]|1[0-9]{2}|2...) is responsible for verifying, if your version string adheres to MS standards, defining that the major version may not be higher than 255. The error is cryptic, but so is the error that MSIX Hero gets from the MS tooling.

The first field is the major version and has a maximum value of 255. The second field is the minor version and has a maximum value of 255. The third field is called the build version or the update version and has a maximum value of 65,535.

The solution is to change your version, to adhere to the pattern I mentioned.
