Question regarding App Store Submission and Entitlements

So, I'm currently adding the MCP SDK to my app, following Matt's example project here: https://github.com/mattt/iMCP

I was only ever able to get MCP communication working between Claude Desktop and my App without Sandboxing the embedded command line tool that sets up the Bonjour comms...but I get rejected when trying to submit to TestFlight for a beta build. Am I missing something here?

Hi @narner. I'm sorry you're having trouble with app submission. That's definitely my least favorite part of the whole process of making apps.

If you're distributing through TestFlight or the App Store, then you will indeed to build with App Sandbox. I've only distributed iMCP directly, but it still works with that entitlement enabled.

If you're having trouble getting Bonjour to work, make sure you have both incoming and outgoing connections enabled:

If the problem is notarizing the CLI embedding into the bundle... that's a bit trickier to get right. For iMCP, going through Direct Distribution worked:

And previously, I've used this incantation to notarize iMCP from an exported copy:

xcrun notarytool submit iMCP.app.zip --wait --keychain-profile="(...)"
xcrun stapler staple iMCP.app
rm iMCP.app.zip
